Captain Nick Blanco is a seasoned Kodiak fishing guide with over 12 years of hands-on experience navigating the waters of Alaska. Originally from Minnesota, he made the bold move to Kodiak in 2011 and dedicated himself to building Driftwood Wilderness Lodge from the ground up. His work and determination were featured on the Building Alaska show, allowing viewers to witness the creation of the lodge firsthand and see his passion for the Alaskan wilderness come to life.
Fishing has always been Captain Nick’s true calling. Once the lodge was completed, he was able to fully immerse himself in guiding guests on the waters of Kodiak, sharing his deep knowledge of local fishing hotspots and techniques. “I am most comfortable on the water, and all my most memorable memories take place there,” he reflects. His enthusiasm for teaching anglers and seeing their excitement when landing fish defines his approach to every trip.
Captain Nick offers a wide variety of fishing experiences tailored to different skill levels and preferences. From serene river fishing to challenging offshore excursions, he specializes in inshore, nearshore, and offshore fishing. With expertise in light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, fly fishing, and deep-sea techniques, Captain Nick ensures that every angler has a safe, productive, and memorable adventure in Kodiak’s rich waters.
